Så här står det i ''autopatcher Readme'' --------------------------- Autopatcher v0001 by Ian Patterson This tool will automatically extract the original Oblivion.exe from your installation DVD and copy it in to your Oblivion install folder. This is useful if you installed Shivering Isles before installing the official 1.2 patch and now have a version of Oblivion that is incompatible with OBSE. This tool should automate most of the process of rolling back your Oblivion.exe so you can install the 1.2 patch. [ Instructions ] 1. Go to http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/updates_patches.htm and download the v1.2 patch applicable to your local region from Bethesda. 2. Make sure your original Oblivion DVD is inserted in one of your DVD drives. 3. Run autopatcher.exe. 4. Autopatcher should automatically detect your Oblivion DVD - if this fails, it will print "Couldn't find the Oblivion DVD. Do you want to specify a path containing the Oblivion install files manually?". Answer "Yes", then find the "data1.hdr" file on your Oblivion DVD. 5. Autopatcher will ask you where you want to save the Oblivion.exe file. It should automatically detect where you have Oblivion installed, so just clicking "save" should be OK. If you have moved your Oblivion installation, navigate there, although if autopatcher can't detect where you have Oblivion installed, you may have problems running the patcher. See the Troubleshooting section for detailed instructions if this applies to you. 6. If you already have an Oblivion.exe, autopatcher will ask you if it's OK to rename it to Oblivion.exe.old. I suggest clicking Yes, because having a backup is always safer than not. 7. A new Oblivion.exe (version 0.1.0.228) will be created based on the files on your Oblivion DVD. Autopatcher will then exit. 8. Run the v1.2 patch you downloaded in step one. It should automatically update your Oblivion.exe to 1.2.0.214. If an error dialog saying "Old file not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match" appears during patching, just click OK. This means that you've either installed Shivering Isles, or you've modified one of the files on your own. 9. Everything should be done! To check the version of Oblivion you now have installed, right-click your Oblivion.exe, choose "Properties", then go to the Version tab. If it says "1.2.0.214", you're good to go. [ Troubleshooting ] An error message appears while running autopatcher.exe: - Send an email to the contact address listed at the end of this document, attaching the autopatcher.log file created during the extraction process. I'll see what I can do to solve the problem. After running the 1.2 patch, it says I still have 0.1.0.228 installed: - Do a search through your Oblivion install folder for other files named Oblivion.exe - sometimes this confuses the updater. Move them elsewhere or rename them temporarily, then re-run the 1.2 patch. Autopatcher didn't find my Oblivion install directory and running the patch didn't update my Oblivion.exe: - The patcher uses a path stored in the registry to find the Oblivion.exe to patch. Go to the Start menu, choose Run, then type "regedit". Expand the list of folders in the left pane until you get to "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion", then click the "Oblivion" folder. Double-click on the "Installed Path" key in the right pane. A dialog box should come up; type in the path to your new Oblivion installation, for example "e:\oblivion\" (without the quotes). [ FAQ ] How does this work? - Autopatcher essentially pretends to be the standard Oblivion installer, except it only extracts Oblivion.exe, not the rest of the files. Are you redistributing Bethesda's files? - No, that's why you need to put in your original Oblivion DVD. For further proof, note that this EXE is less than 200K, yet it generates a ~7MB file.
