  4. här är lite mer saker jag glömde Well, after yesterday's hefty barrage of Banjo-Kazooie information, the likes of which we haven't had lavished upon us for years, I think there's room for yet more speculation. The question is - How will the Grunty's Revenge storyline tie-in with Banjo-Tooie and possibly Banjo-Kazooie? Yesterday, we found out that Grunty's Revenge is in fact not set in an alternate universe, and is in fact wedged firmly between Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie! Now, this already poses a few problems. There isn't a single reference to Grunty's Revenge anywhere in Banjo-Tooie! There are a number of reasons why this could happen, but first, we'll take the possibility that Grunty returned to her Boulder after Grunty's Revenge. For this to happen, somehow, at the end of Grunty's Revenge, she would have to be defeated in a way that would let her re-possess her skeleton. This would require magic though, and I'm sure that after beating Grunty, Banjo and Kazooie would exorcise her ghost, to finally rid them of her. So the answer must lie in the time-travel element of Grunty's Revenge. Banjo and Kazooie don't remember meeting with Mumbo-Jumbo in Banjo-Kazooie. As far as they know, it's their first incounter! This doesn't make sense though. Rareware themselves informed us that we'll be going way back into Banjo and Kazooie's past, where they'll meet a younger Mumbo-Jumbo. It'll extremely likely that Banjo and Kazooie never met Mumbo when he was training, and that they only meet him now by going back in time. Now, if you take that into consideration with the fact that the months between Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie have been lost, and not a single character can remember what happened, other than Poker. This leads me to believe, that at the end of Grunty's Revenge, Banjo and Kazooie themselves do a bit of time-travelling-tweaking, and prevent Grunty's Revenge from ever happening! That seems to be the only plausible way for all that to happen without anybody recollecting a minute of it. Then again, did somebody remember something? Did the most famous, but apparently unnecessary secondary character from Banjo-Tooie have a greater role then we thought? Blackeye. I believe Blackeye remembers something out of Banjo's past, possibly not in the time between Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, but in the altered version of Banjo's younger years. Maybe Banjo and Kazooie forgot to tie some loose-ends in their past? Rareware revealed a new character on their website yesterday - Bozzeye, Banjo's old mentor (Presumably he'll be teaching you new moves in Banjo's, er, past.), whom they described as being his "grizzly" mentor. This could only really mean one thing. Bozzeye is a Honeybear, much like Banjo. How much like Banjo though? To quote Blackeye "Ar, a bear stole my glory once, looked a bit like you he did." - Could this be referring to Banjo in his younger days? Or is it a reference to Bozzeye? If so, we may find out alot more about Blackeye. That's not the only mystery surrounding Blackeye however. As we know, nobody remembers the lost months of Grunty's Revenge. Then again, what did Blackeye say himself? "I had a dream once, I were in this fine game!" - This was assosiated with Banjo-Kazooie, because the codename for the game was Project "Dream", however, he said he had a dream, if Banjo and Kazooie did in fact erase all traces of what happened in their altered past, then maybe Blackeye somehow remembers part of it, only it's a distant memory in his mind, almost a dream! So Blackeye could in fact have been talking about Grunty's Revenge! It's not entirely impossible that Rare had plans for the game made out at that stage, and put in a mysterious reference! I'm looking forward to seeing exactly what Rare do with the game's storyline. It should be very interesting indeed! Knowing Rare, it'll all come together in the end.
  5. här e lita fakta om spelet, men på engelska: Game Background -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Grunty's Revenge ::Gameboy Advance:: Developer: Rareware Publisher: THQ US Release Date: Out Now PAL Release Date: 3rd October Players: 1 Link-up: No Save Game: Yes Did anyone ever wonder what Banjo and Kazooie got up to during the apparent limbo of two years between Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie? Rare themselves suggested that they merely played poker for two years. No no, they were lying. Banjo and Kazooie did a whole lot more between the two games. In fact. They embarked on a whole new adventure. When Gruntilda the evil witch fell to her doom below her lair, and was buried with a gigantic boulder, her faithful minion Klungo spent day after night trying to heave the rock off of her. He took far too long. Grunty died. She became no more than a ghost, and her bones were left below the boulder. Though she was dead, she still had a bone to pick with Banjo and his feathery friend. She wanted, she needed, to get her Revenge. Being only a spectral entity, Grunty didn't really have any plausable way to avenge herself, she didn't want to settle with just haunting the poor bear, no. So Grunty was forced into reviving her body by prosthetic means, thus her cyborgic transformation as seen on the right. Enraged by her death, and with no hope left, she plans to get revenge on Banjo and Kazooie via transdimensional-time-teleportation, to stop the pair from ever meeting! Two months have passed since Banjo & Kazooie defeated Gruntilda. Klungo had given up all hope of lifting the boulder of of his mistress, so he started work on a new project, it wasn't long before he had finished his latest invention. Mumbo-Jumbo, ambling leisurely towards Banjo's house, spots Klungo unveiling his latest invention, and quickly hides behind a bush to survey the scene. Klungo informs Gruntilda that the only way for her to escape, is for her to leave her buried body, and inhabit the metallic suit he has prepared for her. Grunty's misty, purple spirit rests itself inside Klungo's contraption, the Mecha-Grunty. Grunty wastes no time in setting her well-thought-out plan into action, and tells Klungo that the only way to beat Banjo and Kazooie is to seperate them. Her plan is to kidnap Kazooie. Panic stricken, Mumbo-Jumbo sprints his way to Banjo's house, as fast as his bony little legs will carry him, in order to warn Banjo and Kazooie of Gruntilda's return to power. Puffing and panting, he tells banjo what the situation is. Unfortunately, he is too late. Gruntilda swoops down from the sky, lands quite noisely and is face to face with Kazooie. Seizing the opportunity, she grabs the Breegull, lets out a cackle, and with a flash, warps back in time. Banjo is stuck. He can't save Kazooie, as Gruntilda has escaped into the one place he can't reach by himself. With no moves at his disposal, and no means of going back in time, things look quite bad for the pair. Raising to the challenge, Mumbo-Jumbo steps forward to aid Banjo. "Mumbo send Banjo back in time to chase after Grunty." The shaman brandishes his staff, and mutters an incantation, and within seconds, Banjo is hurtled backwards through time. Get ready for a whole new Banjo-Kazooie adventure! Banjo and his Breegull Buddy will revisit chapters of their past, meeting familiar characters such as Mumbo-Jumbo, and some unfamiliar characters such as Bozzeye, Banjo's furry Mentor, and the Jinjo Oracle. All of Banjo's old repetoire of moves return, even Banjo-Tooie exclusives such as the Bill-Drill, along with a whole band-wagon of new ones. Young and unproven Mumbo-Jumbo will make an appearence too, and will show off his first collection of transfigurations. Banjo-Kazooie : Grunty's Revenge, looks set to take the Gameboy Advance by storm, with high-quality graphics, witty dialogue, and fantastic gameplay, this should be a challenge for newcomers and Banjo veterans alike. Banjo and Kazooie will need to be on their toes, to prevent Gruntilda from destroying their past, their present, and their future. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Main Characters -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Banjo Banjo is a carefree and lazy honeybear. He much prefers to just laze around Spiral Mountain all day then to embark on adventures. He's slightly slightly sluggish when it comes to matters intellectual, bless him, but he's very useful when teamed up with his best friend Kazooie. His sharp claws can tear chunks out of the toughest foes. Kazooie Kazooie is a Breegull, of the red-crested variety. She's full of character and spirit, loses her temper at the drop of a hat, and puts everybody in their place with a non-stop string of sarcastic one-liners. Once that big beak of her's opens, there's no stopping her. Kazooie is Banjo's best friend for years. Kazooie spends most of her time tucked up in Banjo's blue backpack, popping out to either assist Banjo, peck an enemy, or insult another hapless character. She's fast, and enjoys soaring through the skies very much (Even though she requires the assistance of a flight pad to do so). Paired up with Banjo, she's unstoppable. Mumbo-Jumbo Jibbering shaman Mumbo-Jumbo is a good friend of Banjo and Kazooie. He isn't fantastic at communicating, as his broken English borders on being cryptic. He spends most of his time lounging around in his Skull (His house is a giant skull, you see). He can transform Banjo and Kazooie into various animals and objects. He has been honing his magical skills since Banjo-Kazooie. Banjo & Kazooie will meet Mumbo-Jumbo's ancestors. Bozzeye Bozzeye, sporting a huge wooly beard, Bottles' ancestor, is Banjo's old mentor. He'll be teaching Banjo some new moves in the er, past. His lazy eye is a great source of entertainment for Kazooie, who constantly makes fun of him. He's a tough old mole though. The Jinjo Oracle The Jinjo Oracle, is the wise, and all-knowing leader of the Jinjos. She loves nothing more than a nice, juicy bit of gossip. However, being a talking slab of stone, she doesn't get around much. Banjo and Kazooie must rescue Jinjos from each of the levels. The Oracle will let you in on a secret or two then. Honey B. Sweet as honey, Miss B is on hand to help those in search of a boost. Give your hollow honeycombs to her, and she'll extend your life bar for you! She'll even refill your energy bar when you're feeling low. Jiggywiggy Master Jiggywiggy, the wise sage with an upturned Jiggy for a head, resides inside his giant temple of Jiggy, where you can unlock new worlds. Gruntilda has put a curse on him and his fellow priests, preventing him from collecting Jiggies. Banjo must help him, by collecting Jiggies, and using them to power the Crystal Jiggy. He must get a bit bored though, standing around all day like that. Klungo Klungo is Gruntilda's most faithful minion. Ever at her side, in life or death, he's always there to lend a hand, or take a beating, as he so frequently does at the hands of Banjo and Kazooie. Watch out if you're fighting him, he'll use some of the dirtiest tricks in the book. Gruntilda Winkybunion Gruntilda is a mean, nasty and horrible old hag. Selfish, spiteful and very very very ugly, she's a nasty piece of work. Her body has decayed away while she was trapped under a gigantic boulder. She now resides inside a robotic outer casing, which is desinged to protect her frail state, and give her power to destroy Banjo and Kazooie. She can transport herself to any part of time at will in her robotic form. Her plan is to stop Banjo & Kazooie from trapping her under a boulder in the first place. Good luck to her, the evil old wench. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Levels -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The various levels that Banjo will visit on his quest. Spiral Mountain As per usual, Spiral Mountain, the tranquil home of Banjo and Kazooie returns. Spiral Mountain connects all the levels in the game. The Spiral Mountain of the past is gigantic. Jiggywiggy's Temple, and Honey B.'s Hive can be found here. Gruntilda's Lair is being built over near Spiral Rise. A long time ago, The Jinjo King used to live where Grunty's Lair stands. The Lair is still under construction. Cliff Farm The first level, found in the southern extremity of Spiral Mountain. This peaceful farm used to be home of the Bleaters, but Gruntweeds and other members of Grunty's army are now abound, and are terrorising the livestock! Banjo had better scour the level for Jiggies, as he'll want to get on with saving Kazooie! Breegull Beach The quiet sea-side home of the Breegull race. Unfortunately, Gruntilda has turned it into a giant Quarry to help build her lair, and the Breegulls have been enslaved! Will Banjo be able to save Kazooie from the clutches of Mecha-Grunty before it's too late? Dive down beneath the waves of this level, and you will find an ocean littered with curious artifacts, such as Breegull statues, and great big arches half-buried in the sand, and sunken ships waiting to be plundered. Climb to the highest peak, and you'll find a Breegull Shrine. Dolphins and Hippos also inhabit the beach. Bad Magic Bayou The dank, putrid bogland of Bad Magic Bayou stretches as far as the eye can see. High above, a run-down old manor overlooks this bleak setting. It is said that ghosts wander the dark places of this level. Gruntilda is using this poisonous marsh as a training ground for her army of Gruntlings, so Banjo & Kazooie had better steer clear of trouble! Even the smell of the bog is enough to leave you feeling sick, let alone bathing in it! Spiller's Harbour Once a busling sea-side town, Grunty has taken hold of it, and everyone with any spark of sense has fled. The sea is polluted with massive oil spillages. Things on land aren't much better, as Germuloids pounce on nearby pray, Tiptup's Suite has been overrun, and the Squitter family have become seperated! If all the industrialism is too much for a bear, you could head down to the sea-shore and build some sand castles, if there aren't any there already, of course. Freezing Furnace The frosty mountains of the Freezing Furnace are quite treacherous. Hard-hitting Biggfoots roam the cliffs, and it's quite easy to slip and fall into ice cold water. The ground is covered in a blanket of snow for the most part, but the mountain-side surrounding Grunty Industries has heated up a bit. Enter the boiling cavern of Grunty Industries and you will find massive lava pools, industrial robots, and loose power outlets. Do try not to tumble into the lava, it'll do you in quite easily, not to mention the acidic pond. Grunty's Stronghold Not much is known about Grunty's latest abode. Do you dare to enter it? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Transformations -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mouse Banjo the mouse! Jump with A, Nibble at things with B. You can fit into small holes as the mouse. Candle Banjo the candle! Things heat up when playing as the candle. Press B to do a sizzling somersault, or A to jump. Watch out for water, it won't do the candle any good. Octopus Banjo the octopus! As an octopus, you can swim in water that is harmful to Banjo. Jump with A, and fire a jet of water with B. When in the water, you can jump even higher! Tank Banjo the tank! This is a fairly formidable transformation. Fire from the mortar cannon using B. The tank can't jump. Watch out, you're heavy, so don't stand on weak platforms for too long. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Moves -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All of the moves Bozzeye will teach Banjo and Kazooie Walk Amazingly enough, you can actually walk. It's better than just sitting around looking at the gorgeous graphics all day anyway, no matter how tempting that may be. You just tap the Directional Pad. Intuitive, no? Jump You might take this for granted, but it's actually very hard to make characters jump properly in a psuedo-3D environment. Give the A button a quick stab for a nice big leap. Feathery Flap Jump Control Banjo's decent by pressing down A while in mid-air. It also makes Kazooie look very silly, which, as we all know, is a good thing. Rat-a-tat Rap Peck enemies' eyes out using Kazooie's razor-sharp beak, by using this clever move. Launch Banjo into the air like a hairy cannonball, and press B to start some mayhem. Climb Banjo is a bear. Bears can climb objects. As a result, Banjo can climb too. It's all very clever, really . Hurl Banjo at a ladder, cluster of vines, or any other rough surface, and he'll latch himself on, allowing you to climb up or down. Swim Thankfully, Banjo's aquatic abilities return. Either paddle around on the surface using the directional pad, or dive underwater, by pressing the L Button over areas of water that have bubbles rising from them. When underwater, guide banjo around using the directional pad, swim upwards with B, surface with a tap of the shoulder button, or simply let Banjo sink to the sea-bed. Talon Trot Move around with speed and style, using this move. Hold the L-Button to crouch, and then press the R Button to start the move, Press L again to end the move. You can grip to slippery surfaces using this move, as well as giving Banjo a well-deserved rest. Bill Drill Spin around at dizzying speeds, and drive Kazooie's robust beak straight through whatever was unfortunate enough to be under it. Leap into the air, and prosumably, press and hold the L-Button to do some drilling. Good for giving baddies a shakedown, bad for Kazooie's rotation based nausea. Wonder Wing A golden glow to protect Banjo! Use this move to burst through all sorts of previously hazardous material. It won't work on everything, but at least you'll be protected if anything goes wrong. Step on any red pad with a picture of a golden feather on it, and press A, to start the move. It requires golden feathers to work, so keep your stock of them up. Breegull Blaster Whip out Kazooie, and use her as an automatic weapon. Fire eggs all over the place, and look the business, as you dish out penance to nearby foes. Crouch and press the B button to start the move, and then you use the B-Button again to trigger Kazooie's barrage of eggs. You can then jump with the A Button, change egg type using the R Button, or end the move using the L Button. Shock Disk Jump Need that extra bit of height in your jump? Find any of the many luminous green disks with talons embellished on them, and hold down the A-button to make Kazooie stretch the tendons in her legs to snapping-point, and launch the duo high into the air. Forward Roll Rolling returns, and it's as useful as it ever was. Just tap B while running around, to make Banjo curl up and stampede over anything in his path. Pack Whack Use Banjo's backpack to trigger switches or simply to knock seven bells out of baddies. Press B while stationary to launch to move, or Press B at any time to launch the move if you haven't learnt the Forward Roll.
