On December 14, 2009, Valve announced the first DLC installment for Left 4 Dead 2, "The Passing". The campaign features the cast of Left 4 Dead 2 meeting with the survivors from the original Left 4 Dead. The campaign takes place between "Dead Center" and "Dark Carnival" and is a three-map campaign, unlike the "Crash Course" campaign for Left 4 Dead which was only two maps. The campaign introduces a new uncommon infected in the form of the 'Fallen Survivor', a well-equipped zombie that may drop items the players can use, however for balancing reasons it will actually try to run away rather than fight, making the valuable items it carries harder to attain. The add-on also features new weapons, an M60 machine gun which can't be reloaded and a golf club for melee and new game modes. These modes include weekly events called "Mutations", which alter the conditions of play, such as "Realism Versus" mode or "Chainsaw Massacre" where each player is given a chainsaw with unlimited fuel. It costs 560 Microsoft Points for the Xbox 360 and will be free for PC users. The campaign was expected to be released March 30th, 2010 but was delayed to April, 22nd 2010. A campaign for Left 4 Dead will be released as a prequel to the events in "The Passing" describing how the original survivors became involved in the campaign and the sacrifice that was made. från wikipedia
