Svchost.exe

Igår så började datorn sega något extremt.

Det som har gort det är en svchost.exe som har tagit 99% as cpun. Jag testade nu med att stänga av den och det gick utan problem.

Jag har inte heller märkt att något har slutat fungerar efter att jag stängt av den. Kan det ha varit en fakt svchost bland alla som finns?

 

Jag har nu 5 svchost.exe igång.

Prova att köra Windows Update manuellt eftersom många verkar klaga på att 'automatiska uppdateringar' är anledningen till det problemet. Prova också med att stänga av den funktionen och se om det leder nån vart.

I think what Abbas Mirza means is that you should go to "msconfig" and try disabling svchost.exe from there so that it never loads at startup. This way, you aren't disabling it from inside Windows. Instead, you are not enabling it to begin with.

 

I'd like to make something clear though: svchost.exe is a native Windows process which really should be left on. Is it possible that a virus has attached itself to this file, and that is what is causing the huge cpu load? By nature the program eats a lot of cpu time, but not this much

 

common problem with xp - applications not starting correctly, then taking up 99% cpu usage. my experiences show it happens with iexplore.exe, help centre, some virus scanners, etc.. it's quite random, and microsoft have not yet released a fix for it. i'm told it's partially due to corrupt/damaged system files. this fix should work for all versions of xp, but BACK UP ALL YOUR IMPORTANT FILES FIRST!

 

Place XP CD in cd drive with windows running.

Quit out of the menu that pops up.

Go to START>Run

Type "sfc /scannow" then press OK.

 

This will check and restore if corrupt all your sytem files. It can corrupt other files, hence the warning to back up other files.

Jag hirrade problemet när jag stängde av ett par services igår.

Det var "WIA (Windows Image Acquisition)" som tog upp CPU. Vet ej varför, men det är till för bildläsningstjänster för skannrar och kameror.

 

Blev ganska snopen när jag märte att det var den eftersom det står överallt att automatiska uppdateringar tar CPU, inget annat...
