1. Create a new canvas any size, I am going to go with 400x400 with a transparent background.
2. With your first layer selected fill it with black. Then create a layer and add text to it. I am going to type "Fire". The font I am using is Final Frontier. Try not to use thick fonts. Also make sure your font color is white.
3. Duplicate the new text layer.
4. Go to Image>Rotate Canvas>90ºCW
5. With the copied text layer highlighted, go to Filter>Stylize>Wind. Use the default settings and check off Wind and From the Right.
6. Go to Filter>Stylize>Wind again but this time check off Wind to the Left. And then do Wind again or just hit Ctrl+F
7. Go to Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur. Use the default settings except for change the radius to 2.
8. Now on this step just do Wind again with the same settings (Wind, From the Left). Then do Gaussian Blur agian with the same settings (Radius=2).
9. Now rotate the canvas back to original by Image>Rotate Canvas>90ºCCW. Then Merge you blurred text layer with your background (black).
10. Go to Image>Ajustments>Hue/Saturation. Use these settings:
-Check Colorize
-Hue: 25
-Saturation: 100
-Lightness: 0
11. This is the final Step. Go to Image>Ajustments>Brightness/Contrast. Use these settings:
-Brightness: -20
-Contrast: 60
12. Optional: Highlight your text layer and change the color of the text to black.
